Like so many individuals, you may have allergy symptoms sometimes. Sometimes our allergies are just an occasional annoyance, and other times they seem to be a persistant part of our lives. Suffering through your allergy symptoms doesn’t have to be a way of life; there are many different options at your disposal. It is possible to get symptom relief.
Throughout one’s lifetime, an individual may experience fluctuating levels of vulnerability to different allergens. For instance, young babies experience exposure to proteins initially through food, and therefore suffer from food allergies more frequently than others. As they age, they may become tolerant of some allergens, and can become sensitive to new ones as they are introduced to them. Do not discount the possibility of an allergic reaction in your child simply because there has never been a reaction to non-food allergens in the past.
To prevent mold and mildew, you should keep your bathroom ventilated well. Mold loves to grow in moist bathrooms, and this is especially true if your bathroom is dark. Keep wet washcloths and towels on the towel rack, and turn the fan on when finished showering. If a fan is something you do not own, merely crack a small window to allow for fresh air circulation.
Even though skin tests can tell you what you are allergic to, they don’t tell you how extreme your allergies are. For example, the test may show that you have an allergic reaction to mold. It’s possible to have mild or even no symptoms when near allergens.
A lot of those with allergies have gotten the suggestion to get a humidifier to moisten the airways as one sleeps. This might not be a great way to do this because the humidifier can get the carpet wet which causes a musty smell. Try using saline spray prior to bed for keeping your nasal passages moist.
Choose your deodorants wisely. A lot of the time they have ingredients in them that are horrible for your skin condition and will cause you to break out, they also seep into pores. These things can be detrimental to you and your skin.
Clean your bathroom! Bathrooms are a breeding ground for mold, and should be cleaned at least once a week. Use a bleach and water mixture to wipe all wall surfaces and eliminate mold. This can prevent mold from accumulating and worsening your allergies.
Try to limit how many rugs and carpets you have throughout your home. These surfaces are often filled with pollen, dust and pet dander. Rugs can be acceptable for decorating. The key is to ensure they can be washed and are regularly cared for.
Don’t keep household garbage inside. Garbage can attract all sorts of pests. Your allergies can be made worse from mice droppings. Use traps, or hire a professional to dispose of rodents and other pests. If traps do not get rid of them, you may need to consider a rodent poison.
You can manage allergy symptoms and live your life. Itchy eyes, a runny nose and some other symptoms can make life less enjoyable. The sooner you seek help, the sooner you can find relief and enjoy your days without your most irritating symptoms.
